Lady Finnguala ingen Dauid (Deceased 21 June A.S. XLIV - 2009)

(CGHM, AOA, CSK, CRR, CACM)

Lady Finnguala became active in the Society in A.S. XXIV, shortly after the founding of the (then) Canton of Sol Haven. She served the Canton/Shire as Chatelaine and Reeve (twice), both for extended periods of time, and she was one of the diehard members of Clan Pylanstyk. During her time this Lady helped with countless projects over the years, served as reservationcrat for numerous events hosted by Sol Haven, worked in many, many kitchens, and took part a great many other activities. She was always available to help when needed, and while she did not enter her work into competition she sewed beautifully by hand. After a lengthy hiatus, we hoped eventally to welcome this Lady back to enthusiastic activity, and that that she would continue to follow The Dream for many more years. Alas that instead we lost her.

Lady Finnguala was the Lady Wife of Lord Leonard of Dartmoor the Elder, and was also a member of Tribe Zareefat.

Lady Finnguala's name & device and her personal badge all are registered with the SCA College of Arms.

Finngula's Song
Lands of my memory call to me,
Winds singing hymns in the heather,
And oer the meadows my heart shall see
Melodies dancing forever.
Sing, oh my heart of the gloaming sea,
Sing of the sweet misted weather.
Ere shall my spirit a-longing be
Til I may tarry there ever.

Soft through the valleys the piper's song
Wafts on the winds of the evening.
Firelight carries my dreams along
Dreaming is near to believing.
Smile, oh my heart in the morning's chill
Smile, for the green vales are calling.
Heart, tell me I shall do as I will,
Linger as twilight is falling.

Hark, how the music doeth sweetly call,
Comes unto me like a lover.
Holding me close til the evening's fall,
Dreaming a dream like no other.
Lands of my memory call to me,
Winds singing hymns in the heather,
And oer the meadows my heart shall see
Melodies dancing forever.
